This device provides architectural enhancements that make itapplicable in a variety of applications for general control systems.The OM5202 contains no read-only program memory, a volatile256 x 8 read/write data memory, four 8-bit l/0 ports, tw0 16-bittimer/event counters (identical to the timers of the 80C51), amulti-source, two-priority-level, nested interrupt structure, UART andon-chip oscillator and timing circuits. The OM5202 can be expandedwith standard TTL compatible memories and logic.

The differential input voltage must be within the devicecommon-mode range (1V of either supply) when the con-verter and measured system share the same power supplycommon (ground). Ifthe conve rterand measu red system donot share the same power supply common, VIN should betied to analog common. Polarity is determined at the end of the signal integratephase. The sign bit is a true polarity indication in that signalsless than l LSB are correctly determined. This allowsprecision null detection, limited only by device noise andauto-zero residual offsets.
